Leigh-Ann Andersen is a bright
young woman with a lifelong passion for learning. She resides in central Canada
with her cat, two fish, two cats, and two miniature poodles. She also has two beautiful
young children, Tristan and Rowan. Both boys, they are the light of her life,
and really enjoy the fact that "Mommy" is so unique.
Leigh-Ann was married at the young age of 23 and had given birth to her first son by 24. By 25, she was pregnant again and her marriage was in trouble. She separated from her husband at 26 and gave birth to her second son just a few weeks later. Knowing that she now faced the daunting task of raising two active boys by herself with no support from her ex-husband, Leigh-Ann launched her own career and returned to school at the same time.
As a
part-time student, Leigh-Ann is pursuing a PhD in creative writing. As a hobby,
she also studies anthropology, general religious studies, and politics at the
University of Winnipeg. Her love of learning inspires her writing in its many
forms.
As a career,
she writes fantasy novels
under her pen name, LA Quill. She is also a popular web content writer on a variety of subjects and runs several weekly blogs, ranging in topics from pet care to fiction writing. She is currently the author of several novels, short story collection, and non-fiction books, all written under a variety of pseudonyms.
But she is still, first and foremost, a mother. Her children are the light of her life and the bane of her existence. They run her ragged and make her smile with their antics. Through them, she's learned to see the world through the eyes of a child again. As a single mother, she's had to learn to deal with the little problems that crop up with creativity and patience, but all has not been light and roses.
Still, she's thriving as a mother, author, and independent adult and longs to share her insights, successes, and mistakes with others as she travels through motherhood with her two boys driving the bus.
